Step 1: Choose the correct business type
When beginning your Adyen onboarding, it’s important to select the correct type of organisation to ensure your application is processed smoothly:
1. If your club is registered as a company:
Select Company, then enter your official company number.
2. If your club is a non-profit CIC or CIO:
Select Non-profit, then enter your charity number.
If your club does not have a charity number, enter your company number instead, and add one or two zeros (0) before it to match the expected formatting.
3. If your club is an unincorporated association (no company or charity number):
Select Incorporated association, then enter six zeros (000000) in the company number field.
Step 2: Provide appropriate business verification documents
To verify your club’s business status, upload one of the following based on your business type:
Company:
Upload a document from Companies House that clearly shows the company name and company number.
CIC or CIO (non-profit):
Upload a document that proves your organisation is a non-profit, and that includes both the charity or company number and the organisation name.
Unincorporated association:
Upload a signed and dated club constitution with at least one member's signature.
Step 3: Submit correct bank verification
For successful bank verification, ensure that the legal business name matches exactly with what appears on the submitted bank account document.
If your club’s bank account uses an abbreviation (e.g., "AFC" or "FC") that does not match the full legal name, you must add a "doing business as" name that matches the name on the bank account.
