Assess a player

Score a player on the skills their position needs, and feed the result into PositionMatch.

An assessment scores a player across the skills their position actually needs, records their preferred position and stronger foot, and feeds the result into PositionMatch. Once published, the player can see it on their own profile.

Start one

Two entry points, same flow:

  • On a computer — open Quick add and choose Assessment.

  • In the app — tap Create and choose Assessment.

Work through the assessment

  1. Pick the player. Only players in groups you coach are listed.

  2. Choose position. "Select the location for this assessment" — this decides which skills you are asked to rate.

  3. Primary Foot. "Select the players primary foot". Left or Right; there is no both, and the step will not advance until one is chosen.

  4. Physical Development, when it appears. "Select the level of the players physical development", used to read the ratings against the player's maturity rather than their age. It shows only when you are assessing a child — an adult player, or a player rating themselves, skips it.

  5. Rate each skill from 1 to 10. The skills follow the position you picked, so a forward is rated on things like Attacking and Pace and a defender is not.

  6. Check the suggested position. 360Player reads your ratings and proposes a Best position, which may differ from the Chosen position you started with. Keep yours or take the suggestion.

  7. Set assessment accessibility, then Publish.

After you publish

  • It appears on the player's profile under Development > Assessments, where Show detailed assessment opens the full breakdown and the Spider chart.

  • The ratings feed PositionMatch, which compares the profile against what each position asks for — see How PositionMatch works.

  • Each assessment is stored separately, so reassessing the same player through the season builds a trend rather than overwriting the last one. Compare puts two side by side.

Players can also assess themselves, which is the useful half of the exercise when you want to see the gap between how they read their game and how you do — see How players create assessments in 360Player.

Troubleshooting

  • No Assessment option under Quick add. You do not have permission to create assessments in this group.

  • The player is not in the list. You can only assess players in groups you coach.

  • No Physical Development step. Expected for an adult player, and for a player assessing themselves.

  • The skills are not the ones I wanted to rate. They come from the position. Go back a step and change Choose position.
