How to import CSV files correctly in Excel on Mac
When exporting CSV files, Mac users may encounter unexpected or incorrect data formatting when opening the file in Excel. To resolve this, performing a Get Data process in Excel ensures the data is properly converted into a usable format.
Steps to import CSV files using Get Data in Excel
Open Excel on your Mac.
Select the "Data" tab from the top menu.
Click "Get Data" (also known as Power Query).
Choose "From Text/CSV" as the data source.
Locate and select the CSV file you have exported.
Click "Load" to import the data into Excel.
By following these steps, Excel will properly interpret the data, resolving any unexpected formatting issues that may appear when opening the CSV file directly.
