A service fee is an extra charge your club adds on top of what members pay. It can be a percentage of the amount, a fixed amount per payment, or both.
How the fee is worked out
Percentage — a share of each payment's amount. 3% on a 500 kr invoice adds 15 kr.
Fixed amount — the same amount added to every payment, whatever its size.
Both — the percentage and the fixed amount are added together, for example 3% + 25 kr.
The fee is added to every payment: one-off invoices, registration payments, each subscription invoice and each installment. So with a fixed amount, a season fee split into 4 installments carries the fixed amount 4 times.
A payment of 0, for example after a 100% discount, gets no fee at all. A subscription keeps the fee it was created with, so a new fee applies to subscriptions started after you save.
Edit the percentage and fixed amount
Go to Settings > Payments.
Under Service fee, click Edit.
Enter a Percentage, a Fixed amount, or both. Leave 0 in the one you don't want.
Click Save. The confirmation shows the exact fee, for example “Charge a 3% + 25 kr service fee on every payment?”. Click OK to apply it.
To stop charging a fee, set both to 0 and save. The confirmation then reads Remove service fee?.
Changing the fee needs edit access to payments. Anyone else sees the current fee but no Edit button.
What members see
On an invoice, the fee is a separate Service fee line.
At checkout for a registration, each amount shows whether it includes a fee. Due today:, the recurring payment and Plan total: each say incl. service fee when that amount has a fee on it.
If you don't see Service fee
The setting is only there for clubs whose payments run through Adyen. Clubs set up with Stripe can't add a service fee; see Migrate from Stripe to Adyen.
