Group settings control one group's identity and behaviour — its name, badge, colour, sport, age and gender bands, who can join it, and what its members can see. Settings you leave alone are inherited from the group above.
Open a group's settings
Two ways in, depending on where you are:
From the structure — Management > Organization, then the three dots on the group's row and Edit.
From inside the group — open it and go to Group settings > General.
Only admins can change group settings.
What you can change
Settings > General holds several sections. Each field has its own Change or Edit control and saves on its own, so there is no single save button for the page.
Core settings — Name, Sport, Gender, a Birth year range, Country, and Season start. Also Group badge and Group brand color, and the Player dialogue template used for performance reviews.
The join settings — the group's code and invite link, whether People can join this group at all, and Allow player signup. See Managing group invites.
Visibility settings — Show team page ("Shows the team page for players and parents.") and Show data to players. These decide what members see, so they are worth a deliberate choice rather than a default.
Carpooling — Allow carpooling, which lets groups offer car seats and request rides.
Appearance settings — Upload your badge and a Color.
Inherit from the parent group
A subgroup can take its settings from the group above instead of carrying its own. Click Use parent team settings, then confirm which properties to inherit — you are asked to confirm because it overwrites what the group has now.
This is the mechanism that makes a club-wide change stick: set the sport, colours and badge once at the top, and let the teams inherit rather than repeating them. A group that has been given its own value keeps it until you inherit again.
The badge caveat
A badge set on a subgroup only changes how that group looks in the organization structure. Its members still see the badge from the top level of the organization, so a team badge is an admin convenience rather than something the squad sees.
Changes that ask twice
Setting a birth year range or a group gender asks you to confirm before saving. Both affect who the group is for and how age-based reporting reads it, so the confirmation is there on purpose — read what it says rather than clicking through.
Troubleshooting
No Group settings item. You are not an admin of that group. Being an admin higher up the tree does cover the groups beneath it — check you are looking at the right group.
A change did not stick. Each field saves independently; make sure you confirmed the one you edited rather than moving straight on.
The subgroup keeps reverting. It is inheriting from its parent. Set the value on the subgroup itself, or change the parent so every child follows.
The group's badge is not showing to players. Expected — see the badge caveat above.
