Your organization is a tree of groups: the club at the top, teams and staff groups under it, and further subgroups under those if you need them. A group is where people, events, payments and permissions all attach, so the shape of the tree decides most of what the platform can do for you.
Create a group
Go to Management > Organization.
Open the three-dots menu on the group you want the new one to sit under and choose Create subgroup. The dialog is titled Create a new group under that group, so you can see where it will land before you commit.
Type a name. Team names must be at least 3 characters long — a shorter one is rejected, and that is the most common reason the form refuses to save.
Click New group. A Group created confirmation appears and the group shows up in the tree.
A new group inherits its parent's settings — colour, badge, sport, age bands — so create it in the right place and you have less to configure. Anything you set on the group itself overrides what it inherited; see Edit group settings.
What else the group menu does
The same three-dots menu holds the rest of a group's lifecycle: View and Go to group to open it, Edit for its settings, Add user to group and Manage users for its people, and two that are easy to miss.
Move group re-parents a group. The dialog asks you to Select new group parent, and the whole subtree moves with it — everything under the group keeps its shape and follows.
Delete removes the group. Move its people out first; a group is where memberships attach, so deleting it takes those attachments with it.
Reorder groups
Use Sort groups in the Organization view, drag the groups into the order you want, and confirm. Groups can only be reordered against their own siblings — to move one somewhere else in the tree, use Move group instead.
