Complete Adyen onboarding for UK grassroots clubs

Business-type and verification-document specifics for UK grassroots clubs going through Adyen onboarding.

UK grassroots clubs only. This covers the business-type and document choices specific to UK grassroots clubs. For the full onboarding flow — opening the portal, decision makers, bank account, signing, and submission — start with Get started with payments (Adyen) and come back here for the details below.

Choose your business type

  • Registered company — select Company, then enter your official company number.

  • Non-profit (CIC or CIO) — select Non-profit, then enter your charity number. No charity number? Enter your company number instead, padded with one or two leading zeros to match the expected format.

  • Unincorporated association (no company or charity number) — select Association, then enter six zeros (000000) in the company number field.

Provide verification documents

Upload one of the following, matching your business type:

  • Company — a Companies House document showing your company name and number.

  • CIC or CIO — a document proving non-profit status, showing your charity or company number and your organisation's name.

  • Unincorporated association — a signed and dated club constitution with at least one member's signature.

Match your bank verification

Your legal business name must match exactly what's on the bank account document you submit. If your club's bank account uses an abbreviation (e.g. "AFC" or "FC") that doesn't match the full legal name, add a "doing business as" name to your business details that matches the bank account instead.
