Create a registration form

Pick a registration type, answer its setup questions and build the registration in the workspace.

A registration collects information, can take payment, and can control who is allowed to submit it. You start by picking a type, and the type decides which steps and settings you get. For what each option does, see Registration form possibilities.

Choose a registration type

Every new registration has one of four types. You can't change the type after the registration is created.

  • Standard — a straightforward sign-up that collects answers and can take payment. Product bundles can use field-based rules to decide who sees them. There is no setup step: the registration is created as soon as you pick the type.

  • Tryouts — for bringing players to tryouts and open sessions. The setup step creates one tryout per team, each with its own date, time and place. Adds a Tryouts step to the workspace.

  • Team registration — sign-ups tied to your existing teams. You choose how players join: By invitation (only players you invite can sign up) or Self selection (players sign up themselves and are added to the right team). You can add a registration fee in the setup step.

  • Programs — a camp, course, series of events or single event. Registrants pick one or more programs and are signed up for every event in them. Adds a Programs step to the workspace.

Only the Tryouts and Programs types can hold tryouts or programs, and your club needs payments set up in 360Player to create them, even free ones. See Add programs or tryouts to a registration.

The Registrations list shows each registration's type in the Type column. To see one kind only, filter the list by Type.

Start a registration

  1. Open Registrations.

  2. Click Create.

  3. Under Choose a registration type, pick a type.

  4. For Tryouts, Team registration or Programs, answer the setup questions below and click Continue.

The registration is created as a Draft and Unlisted, and opens in the workspace. It already asks for First name, Last name and Email.

Answer the setup questions

Each setup step asks for a Title, and optionally a Category and a Description. Everything you enter here can be changed later in the workspace.

Tryouts. Click Pick teams and choose the teams holding the tryout. Under When and where?, set a date, a start and end time, and a location for each team. If your club takes payments, answer Should the tryout cost anything?. You get one tryout for each team that has a date. No product bundles are created.

Team registration. Under How should players join a team?, pick By invitation or Self selection. Click Connect teams to and choose the teams. With Self selection, also choose how players end up in the right team: Ask which team adds a required question with one option per team, and From age and gender adds date of birth and gender questions and lets you set an age and gender for each team. If your club takes payments, answer Would you like to add a registration fee? and, if there is a fee, select the products.

Programs. Under Your first program, give the program a Title, an optional Location, and the Group its events are created in. If your club takes payments, set a price under Pricing. Under When is your program happening?, pick every day it runs on.

Build the registration in the workspace

The workspace saves your changes as you go, so there is no final save or create button. The steps you see depend on the type:

  • General — the title, category, description and Image attachment.

  • Tryouts or Programs — only on those types. Click Create tryout or Create program to add one. See Add programs or tryouts to a registration.

  • Questions — click Add question and choose Default field (built-in contact fields, or a question your club saved on another registration) or Custom question. Mark a question Required if it must be answered.

  • Products — product bundles that set what registrants pay and who can pick them. See the next section.

  • Team invitation — only on a Team registration using By invitation. Click Connect player pool to link an earlier registration, such as a tryout, as the source of players. Sending the invitations is covered in Invite people to a registration.

  • Agreements — terms the registrant must accept.

  • Email — turn on Send email upon submission to send a confirmation, and click Customize email to change its subject and content.

  • Settings — status, schedule, visibility and availability.

Add product bundles

A product bundle groups what the registrant pays for with the rules for who can pick it. Skip this if the registration is free and open to everyone.

  1. In the Products step, click Set up product bundles. For more bundles later, click Set up new product bundle.

  2. Under Product bundle details, give it a Title and Description.

  3. If your club takes payments, click Add product and set its validity, quantity, tax and whether it is required. Then click Add payment option to choose Upfront, Installment or Subscription.

  4. Under Eligibility, choose Open product bundle or Field-based rules. On a Team registration, the setup step already set this up.

  5. Click Add product bundle.

Set who can see and submit it

In the Settings step:

  • Visibility — Public (your public form site and club lobby), Club lobby (members of your club only) or Unlisted (direct link only).

  • Limit responses — closes the registration after a set number of submissions.

  • Limit to one submission per user — needs Require a 360Player account too, because the limit is counted per account.

  • Invite only — only invited people can submit. A Team registration using By invitation always stays invite only.

  • Require a 360Player account — registrants must log in or create an account first. It turns on by itself once the registration has tryouts or programs.

Open the registration

  1. Go to the Settings step.

  2. Under Status, pick Open. To open it later instead, tick Schedule open and choose a date and time. Tick Schedule close to close it automatically.

To change the registration later, click Edit on it in the Registrations list.
