When your coach or club admin creates an event and invites you, you get a push notification and the event appears in your calendar with Accept and Decline buttons. This article covers how to respond, how parents respond for their child, and what to do if the buttons aren't there.
Respond from the notification
Tap the push notification ("New event invite: …").
The event opens. Tap Accept or Decline.
Respond from the calendar
Open your Calendar.
Tap the event.
Tap Accept or Decline.
Add a comment with your response
When you accept or decline, tap the same response button again to add a short comment (e.g., "I'll be 10 minutes late" or "Bringing Sam after"). The comment is visible to coaches and admins in the event's participant list, so they can plan accordingly. You can edit or remove the comment any time before the RSVP deadline.
Recurring events: respond to one or all
For recurring events (events that repeat weekly, monthly, etc.) tapping Accept or Decline gives you two choices:
Accept / Decline occasion — applies to just this date.
Accept / Decline series — applies to every upcoming occurrence in the series.
Pick the second option for recurring conflicts (e.g., "I can't make practice on Wednesdays for the rest of the season"). You can still change your response for individual dates afterwards.
If you're a parent
Parents respond from their own account on behalf of each linked child. Switch to the child's profile from the top navigation, open the event, and tap Accept or Decline for that child. If you have multiple children invited, respond for each one separately.
Change your response
Open the event from your Calendar.
Tap the existing response and choose the new one. The change saves immediately.
You can change your response any time until the RSVP deadline (or until the event starts, if no deadline is set).
What to do if you can't respond
If the event is in your calendar but doesn't show Accept/Decline buttons, one of the following is true:
The RSVP deadline has passed. You'll see an orange notice that reads "RSVP date has passed." Once the deadline is past, responses are locked. Contact the coach if you need to be added late or removed.
The event has already started or ended. Past events are read-only.
You haven't been invited. Some events are visible in the calendar without inviting everyone (e.g., a club-wide tournament you can attend as a spectator). Contact the organizer if you think this is a mistake.
Invites haven't been sent yet. For recurring events, the coach can schedule invites to go out a set number of days before each occurrence. Until invites are sent, the Accept/Decline buttons are hidden.
What happens after the event
If you accepted, you're automatically marked Attended when the event ends — unless the coach updates your attendance manually. If you declined, you stay declined. Either way, your response history shows up in attendance reports for the team.
Notifications about changes
If the coach changes the event's location, date, or time, you get a push notification with the updated details. The event automatically updates in your calendar — your response carries over unchanged.
