A shirt number and a position help everyone tell players apart. Each player's number carries through to match lineups and game statistics, so nobody needs a separate list on match day.
Before you start
Who can change them: club admins and team staff. Players and parents can only see them.
Positions depend on the sport: football, futsal, ice hockey, field hockey, basketball, rugby union, rugby league, and volleyball have a list. For other sports, you can only set a number.
Set a player's number and position
Open the team and navigate to Team.
Click the ... menu next to the player and select Set number & position.
Enter a Jersey number from 0 to 999. Leave it empty to remove a number.
(Optional) Pick a Position, for example CM - Central Midfielder.
Click Save.
You can also do this from the player's profile: in Groups, open the team's menu. A player in two teams can have a different number in each.
One number per player
Two players in a team can't share a number. If it's taken, you'll see "#10 is already taken by …" with the name of the player who has it. Remove their number first.
Change numbers for one game
Each player's team number is copied into a match when they're added to it. If someone wears a different shirt on the day, change it for that match only.
Open the match and click the Lineup tab.
Click Edit numbers, next to Players.
Change the numbers you need. You can swap two players' numbers in one go.
Click Save.
Note: changing a team number later doesn't affect matches the player is already in. Only players who join after the change get the new number.
