Training plans

Plan weeks of training in one go. Pick a team, the dates, and what to work on, and get a session for each training session on the calendar, ready to review and publish.

A training plan fills a team's Practice events over a period with sessions, so you don't have to build each one by hand. You pick the team, the dates, and what to work on, and AI helps put together a session for each one from exercises you already have. The focus is balanced across the weeks and the exercises vary from one training session to the next. You review everything, and players see nothing until you publish.

For one session at a time, let the session creator build it for you.

Before you start

  • Who can use it: club admins and coaches. If you don't see Training plans under Development, ask your club admin.

  • Training goes on the calendar first: a plan fills Practice events already on the team's calendar and doesn't create any, so add them first.

  • Tagged exercises: your library's tags are the focus areas, and every session is built from exercises with those tags. The more tagged exercises you have, the better the sessions.

Create a plan

  1. Navigate to Development > Training plans and click New training plan.

  2. Fill in Name, Team, From, and To.

  3. Click Save.

A plan is for one team. You can make several for the same team, for example one per training day.

Step 1: Choose which training sessions to include

The team's Practice events in the period are listed week by week, and those without a session are already included. Tick or untick one to include or exclude it, or click Include all or Exclude all. Then click Next.

An event that already has a session shows Has session. Sessions you made yourself, or that another plan made, are never replaced. Events you add to the calendar later show up in the list, but aren't included until you tick them.

Step 2: Choose what to train

Content sources

Choose where the exercises come from: your team's library, 360Player content, or both. 360Player content is there for football, basketball, rugby union, volleyball, tennis, and padel, if your club has the 360Player library.

Session structure

  • Start each session with a warm-up: adds a 10-minute warm-up, filled with exercises tagged "Warmup". Without any, the block is left for you to fill.

  • Number of exercise blocks: 3 unless you change it. The rest of the training time is split between them.

  • Average exercises per block: 3 unless you change it.

Training focus

Pick the tags the team should work on, and use each slider to set how much of the plan goes to it. The Distribution bar shows the mix. For example, give "Passing" 60 and "Finishing" 40 to spend more of the period on passing. A tag includes the tags under it.

Click Generate. It stays greyed out until you add a focus.

Step 3: Review the sessions

While the sessions are written, you see how many are done. Then each event gets a card with its blocks, minutes, and exercises. A card warns you if an exercise appears twice in one session or a block got no exercises.

Change anything you like. Every change saves straight away.

  • Move: drag exercises between blocks, or drag a block to reorder it.

  • Exercise menu: Regenerate, Duplicate, Swap, or Remove.

  • Block menu: Edit block, Add exercise, Regenerate block, or Delete block. Click a block's minutes to change its length.

  • Whole session: regenerate it from the card's menu.

Note: reviewing works best on a computer, because it uses drag and drop.

Publish to the players

Click Publish. The button shows how many sessions it releases. Players and parents can then open each session from its event in the calendar. Until then, only coaches and admins can see them.

Changes you make after publishing show straight away. If you regenerate a whole session, it's hidden again until you publish.

On the event, the session shows Part of and the plan's name.

Manage your plans

The Training plans page lists every plan with its team, dates, how many of its events have taken place, and its status: Draft until you publish, then Published, and Completed once the end date has passed. Open a plan's menu to:

  • Edit: change the name or dates. Changing the team starts the plan over, and drops the upcoming sessions it made for the old team.

  • Duplicate: copies the settings into a new draft. Choose its training sessions again.

  • Delete: removes the plan and the sessions it made for upcoming events, including published ones. Sessions on past events, and sessions you made yourself, stay.

Troubleshooting

  • A team is missing. You can only pick teams where you can edit training sessions.

  • "No practices in this period" The team has no Practice events on those dates. Add them in the calendar, or change the dates with the pencil next to the plan's name.

  • Generate is greyed out. Add at least one focus.

  • A block is empty. Nothing in your sources matches its focus, or no exercises are tagged "Warmup". Add exercises, or fill it yourself with Add exercise.

  • "Generation failed" Sessions written before it stopped are kept. Click Try again, and contact support if it keeps failing.

  • "A generation run is already in progress." Wait for it to finish.
